DEVIL’S ANGELS

DEVIL’S ANGELS
Production: USA, 1967
Director: Daniel Haller
Category: Biker/Violence
AIP hurriedly followed the success of their biker flick Wild Angels with Devil’s Angels, starring John Cassavetes as the ageing leader of a motorcycle gang. As director Roger Corman was tied up with The Trip, his erstwhile art director Haller stepped in. Although the film has some good moments, it was less successful, both financially and as a movie, than Joe Solomon’s independent, more authentic production Hell’s Angels On Wheels from that same year, which employed Oakland Angels president Sonny Barger as advisor.
