One of Hong Kong’s most famous martial arts fantasies. Master swordsman Cho of the Wu Tang Clan is reluctantly pitted against an evil blood cult and falls in love with one of its most powerful members, a wolf-witch who likes to slice and dice her enemies with a razor-edged bullwhip. They plan to elope together, but when he later betrays her she becomes a demonic, white-haired whirlwind of vengeance. Plentiful gore and dismemberment, swordplay and the supernatural, the grotesque and the erotic, played out on stylised sets of pure artifice. Yu went on to direct the brilliant gore-doll absurdity Bride Of Chucky.
