NUDE RESTAURANT

Production: USA, 1967
Director: Andy Warhol
Category: Underground
A typical production of the Warhol Factory in the mid-’60s. With cast regulars including Taylor Mead, Viva and Ingrid Superstar, this slow-paced and overlong film features various situations, including some sexual action. A restaurant was hired out for the shoot, so that the participants could sit either nude or semi-nude. The lead role of a young draft-dodger is taken by Julian Burroughs, who professes his anti-war sentiments in New York’s Greenwich Village. Production assistant was Paul Morrissey, who the same year received a co-directorial credit for Warhol’s Bike Boy. Other films made by Warhol in 1967 include: Imitation Of Christ, Ed Hood, Donyale Luna, I, A Man (with future would-be assassin Valerie Solanas), The Loves Of Ondine, Tub Girls, Construction – Destruction – Construction, and Sunset.
